UNIVERSITY OF BALLARAT
Originating in 1870, the University of Ballarat (UB) is the third oldest educational institution in Australia. We have a long and established history for developing industry linkages and for preparing our graduates for employment in Australia and around the world.
Well regarded as a student centred learning environment, our graduates rate us favourably: 5 star rating 'Educational Experience' and 4 star rating for 'Graduate Starting Salary' (Good Universities Guide 2004).

- understanding the way the University works, interpreting ‘official language’,
- knowing who to ask about what;
- dealing with difficult personal situations.
Unijobs
Unijobs is a part time employment service funded by the Student Association at the Mt Helen campus to assist students to find work to support their studies. A jobs noticeboard is also provided outside the Student Association Office.
However, part-time work is not guaranteed and international students should not depend on finding part-time work to supplement their income or to fund their studies.
Careers and Work Placement
The Graduate Careers Officer is available to assist students during their course, especially during their final year, with careers advice and work placement. A Careers Fair is held in March to enable final year students to meet potential employers on campus.
Health Services
The Mt Helen Campus of the University of Ballarat has a friendly and professional health service available to students from all campuses. Male and female doctors are available. A referral service operates for dental treatment. The Health Centre specialises in travel health, and provides a vaccination service.
